Second Chance

Usually the call for "floor" is a signal there's a problem with a hand. But during this tournament it's a cry for help as a busted player needs a re-entry card. The Borgata floor managers, specifically Darcey Borden, is running from table to table as the eliminations are fast and furious.

Unfortunately for one player, his second elimination is the end of his day. Mike Leah (Las Vegas, NV) on a board of K-6-4-9-7, reraises seat 10 all in. The player calls and is bewildered to see Leah's 5-8 for the straight.

When asked how his first elimination compared to this one, he says, "about the same." Unfortunately there's only 1 re-entry per player and this guy's done for the day.

As Level 3 continues the short stacks keep pushing because there's less than 30 minutes before the re-entry portion of the tournament closes.

Hudson Handling the Field

Randy Hudson (Greenville, NC) is the leader of the Seniors tournament with 442k chips. His big hand after dinner is A-K vs Q-Q, with Hudson hitting trip kings on the flop for a 175k pot. He builds his stack to 550k, but Hudson gives some back before play ends for the night.

"I've got to stay away from the other big stacks, unless I have the best hand of course," Hudson jokes.

19 players return 2 pm Wednesday as they try and take down the $26,583 top prize.

WSOP Bracelet Winner Leads 6 Max

Event #12 NL 6 Max (Re-entry)
$450 + $50

Rouhani, Chip Leader

The only reason Farzad Rouhani (Germantown, MD) is in the 6-handed, re-entry tournament is because he was bored. His opponents now wish Rouhani had found a good cash game, as he's the chip leader with 12 players remaining.

"I was in the poker room and the big game wasn't going," says the WSOP bracelet winner. "I told them (the regulars) to call me if it gets going, but it never did. So I said 'I might was well play in the 6-max'."

Rouhani signs-up at 12:30 pm, just minutes before registration closes. His big hand comes after the dinner break when Rouhani turns a set of 10s to take out pocket aces and build his stack to 266k.

It was a steady climb from there, before ending the day with 463k. "I'm trying to get better at tournaments," says the 2008 WSOP Bracelet Winner. "I'm primarily a cash game player, but am always looking to practice."

Rouhani and the 11 remaining players return at 2 pm to play for the top prize of $23,422.

Deep Stack Final Table

"I'm sick on the short stack," says Angelo Pistone as he comes from behind to double up. He open shoved Qc9c from the button and sucked out against the AdJd of Joe Cutler to stay alive. James Callari sweats him from the rail, "My boy's on life support, but he's grinding."
