Event #1: Running Good

Sweet Sounds from Boyd

Not too many people in the world can say they've sat at the table with Doyle Brunson, Johnny Moss and Amarillo Slim, but Jim Boyd (Martinsburg, WV) has and is always quick with stories from the early 1980s.

"I've played with those boys and now I'm coming out of retirement," says the wily veteran, "you can still get a sweet tune from an old piano." This coming moments after Boyd triples his stack to nearly 300k when his A A holds up against a flush draw.

"I thought for sure I ran into a set," he says downing another Bud Light while mixing all the gray, orange and purple chips in unkempt stacks.

And while Boyd is nostalgic for the past, he also has an affection for the future as he sends a shout out to Borgata regular and Martinsburg home gal Michele Hughes. "You tell her I'm running good."

Level 16 (3k/6k/500 ante) continues and will be the last of the night.
